CuanOr is the creation of husband and wife team Dan Barrett and Clare Manning, a story shaped by love, family, and the timeless inspiration of Ireland’s outdoors.Their journey began on the water. They first met on a sailboat, and the sea has been the backdrop to their lives ever since: raising three children, two playful King Charles dogs, and sharing adventures along Ireland’s rugged coastline. The rhythm of the waves, the beauty of Celtic heritage, and the wildness of the Irish landscape continue to inspire every piece they create.
Dan grew up in Cork Harbour, inspired by his father’s craftsmanship and a handmade sailing boat gifted at age ten, which sparked his lifelong love of creating things built to endure. During Covid, he discovered goldsmithing, which began as a hobby and quickly became a passion. He honed his skills through training in Dublin, Holland, and Germany, shaping his work into the timeless pieces he creates today.
Clare’s path began in Dublin, where she built a successful career as an accountant. Surrounded by numbers, she developed a deep belief that true worth lies in things that hold their value. This philosophy naturally shaped her passion for design objects that are beautiful and enduring. For Clare, gold is the perfect expression of that belief: elegant, permanent, and treasured across generations.
Together, Dan and Clare created CuanOr a fine jewellery house dedicated to solid gold, heritage, and slow, sustainable luxury. Each piece begins with Clare’s sketches, inspired by the sea, the land, and memory, and is brought to life by Dan’s hands in 9ct, 14ct, or 18ct solid gold.Unlike plated or mass produced jewellery, solid gold retains its worth and often grows more precious with time. At CuanOr, every piece of jewellery is designed to be timeless and meaningful: an adornment to wear today, an heirloom to keep tomorrow, and a lasting legacy to pass on.
